On World Cleanup Day, thousands of people from Lima, Cucuta, Dominicans and Manta, joined the global day to collect plastics and waste on beaches, parks and streets.
Plastic bottles, nylon bags, cigarette butts, aerosols, glass, were part of the 15 tons of waste that more than 8,000 people collected on September 18 in the cities where Inclusive Cities is present.
This contemporary urban problem increases day by day and its inadequate treatment generates important environmental and health problems. According to the organization, it is estimated that countries generate around 1 kilo of urban solid waste per person per day, which represents millions of tons per year, but fortunately, the fight against the growing amount of urban waste does not stop: the health situation allowed to convene again this year a great outdoor activity, with face masks and distance, to free natural spaces of garbage. Along with more than 180 countries, Ecuador, Colombia and the Dominican Republic joined the slogan and global proposal: “Donate a day to clean the planet!”
During the development of the leading methodologies of Peruvian and Venezuelan nationality, they incorporated co-creation principles in order to accelerate the implementation of integration plans with the population in human mobility.
