Music as an inclusion tool

Born in Merida, Venezuela, Luis Castillo has set a clear purpose: to bridge the gap often faced by people with disabilities and to demonstrate that they can lead lives filled with dignity and fulfillment through the power of music. His inspiring vision and commitment have led him to transcend borders, leaving a transformative mark along the way.

Thanks to the collaboration between Ciudades Incluyentes and Sinfonia con el Peru in Lima, the percussion program aimed at children with disabilities has found a valuable space to grow and flourish. Luis has woven a musical bridge between Venezuela and Peru, bringing the orchestral experience to classrooms and auditoriums in Peru. His comprehensive approach to inclusion is evident in how he has helped children with disabilities, along with their families and communities, in a collective journey toward music and personal growth.

Luis’ impact goes beyond musical notes. His work testifies how art can transcend barriers and challenges, offering individuals with disabilities the opportunity to discover new dimensions of their potential.

In his commitment to inclusion, he is not only building musical skills but also nurturing a sense of belonging and self-confidence that extends to all areas of their lives.

Luis is an ambassador of inclusion and a champion of the power of music. His work, transforming the lives of children with disabilities through music, is a heartwarming example of how art can empower and connect, reminding us that every individual, regardless of their challenges, has the ability to illuminate the world with their talent and spirit.
