A a self-construction housing workshop took place on 1 July 2023, aimed for the communities in the cities of Cucuta and Villa del Rosario. Several members of those communities often find themselves needing to build their homes on their own and end up becoming self-taught builders. During the workshop, participants were provided with the necessary tools and knowledge to ensure that this construction work they undertake is carried out optimally and safely. They received training on the proper selection of materials, precise application of foundation techniques, and basic plumbing fundamentals.

Twenty-one individuals from the refugee, migrant, and host communities participated in the session, receiving, among other topics, insights into stability and protection of structures, general knowledge of Colombian construction legislation, essential requirements for carrying out construction projects in the country, and basic electricity concepts.
