Tactical urbanism actions took place in La Chorrera, al El Harino neighborhood from May 29 to June 5 2023. The goal was to recover the Pedro Pablo Sanchez park and create a school-safe route so that children and adolescents from the neighborhood can go to and from school in a calm and safe way. Regarding the park, metal structures with anticorrosive paint were placed that can be used as a space for recreation and rest; landscaping was done around the benches and native plants were planted in order to strengthen the ecosystem of the space. Regarding the safe route, the passage areas of the section that connects the Pedro Pablo Sánchez and Tomas Martin Feuillet schools for pedestrians were demarcated, also creating a protection strip for the continuation of the pedestrian platforms between both parks. The support of the community was quite important, since it was actively involved in the activity. Likewise, the collaboration of the local authorities throughout the process was quite important, as well as the support from the Futbol con Corazon Panama Foundation, an organization that was quite active during the implementation of the actions.
