From April 29 to May 5, 2023, implementation of tactical urbanism action took place in Quito, the Ecuadorian capital. The implementation was carried out in the Quitumbe Territorial Intervention Unit, intervening in two points in the sector: the Salvador Allende neighborhood park and the children’s play area and volleyball court of the Casa Barrial Primero de Agosto were enhanced, which was complemented with the road signs of the route that connects the park with the neighborhood house. Horizontal road markings were also installed, which is a great advance to generate better mobility for pedestrians in the sector.

There was permanent support from the Quito Public Metropolitan Mobility and Public Works Company for road maintenance, road signage, debris removal, and planting of urban trees. The contribution of the Quitumbe Zonal Administration in the approval of the proposal, on-site monitoring, support with the Metropolitan Public Cleaning Company to proceed with the hydro-washing of the sector and eliminate waste of stone material was also important. In the same way, the support of the Secretariat of Territory, Habitat and Housing is highlighted in the permanent work and follow-up meetings.
