The Personal and Community Safety Project in Chaguanas took place in August-September at the Enterprise Government Primary School in Chaguans. The project, which was implemented by the Amethyst School of Martial Arts (ASMA) and Security Training Academy, aimed to promote empowerment-based self defense training for Venezuelan migrant and local women within the Chaguanas area. The training which 47 women completed, also accommodated women in the deaf and hard of hearing community. The ceremony was hosted by local media personality Sunny Bling and was addressed by Alderman Stacey Murphy of the Chaguanas Borough Corporation. The project was also implemented under the Inclusive Cities, Communities of Solidarity project.
