A cycle of workshops on prevention of gender-based violence and the closing of gender gaps in urban migratory contexts began on September 22 2022 at the Territorial Intervention Unit of Villa del Mar. In alliance with the Office for Women, Equity and Gender of the Barranquilla Mayor’s Office, this activity aims to provide tools to refugee, migrant and host community women that allow them to prevent gender-based violence and promote actions aimed at closing gender inequality gaps in urban migratory contexts. 28 women from the host community, refugees and migrants participated in this first workshop, who received training to identify cases of gender-based violence -GbV- in urban migratory contexts, promote the prevention of GbV in their groups of interest and know the gender inequality gaps that limit their decision-making.
