The Longdenville basketball court hosted the Talking to Strangers theatrical play, which sought to show the community the difficulties and promising issues of living in Longdenville and Trinidad and Tobago, as well as encourage participants to give feedback on what that is found on a day-to-day basis, seeking to generate effective solutions. 35 people belonging to the refugee, migrant and host community participated in the event. The neighbors expressed that the play brought out feelings of nostalgia and the desire to see the community with activities for the residents.
The event, which was supported by Drama Making a Difference (DMAD) and La Casita, also explored what it means to be a person (child, unemployed, elderly, woman, refugee and Venezuelan migrant) who lives in Longdenville and, therefore, in Trinidad and Tobago, and pointed out where they feel safe and where they need improvement. Finally, the participants shared what perspective they have for their community. There was a call for DMAD and La Casita to reincentivize this type of dialogue and residents expressed a desire for more community building activities to take place.
