Increasing the integration capacities of the San Martín Fair Complex in Villa del Rosario

The San Martín Fair Complex is a multifunctional platform for commercial and cultural exchange, sports practices and other social recreation exercises, in the city of Villa del Rosario. Although this space has a good location, easy access and a considerable area for all the potential it has as a public space, it was possible to identify it from the Project and thanks to the participatory workshops held with leaders of the city, which the Complex had been presenting failures and wear.

As a result, the complex was less and less frequented by the community, and although this space is within the actions that will be carried out within the Territorial Scale Intervention Plan, from the Inclusive Cities its territorial approach for integration is It is essential not to lose the empowerment and appropriation of citizens in the face of public space, understood as a vital asset to promote interaction and social integration.

For this reason, the San Martín Fair Complex was partially adapted: children’s play areas, some platforms and calisthenics were installed, in order to continue empowering the refugee, migrant and host population to use this multifunctional space, to motivate integration based on the values of sport, art and culture, which allows for an adequate, accessible and inclusive public space.
